Midland manufactures low loader trailers to order at our factories in Parkes, New South Wales and Kyneton, Victoria. Tell us the heaviest machine you move, its track width and the routes you run, and we engineer the trailer around that.
A custom low loader is not a standard trailer with extras bolted on. Deck length, deck widening, ramp style, axle spacing and restraint points are all set by what you actually carry. If a standard tri axle low loader or quad axle low loader build already suits the job, we will tell you that too.
Deck widening from 2490mm to 4000mm, tri or quad axle, and an aggregate trailer mass of up to 55 tonnes depending on the build. Average build and delivery time is around six months. Talk to us about your job.

Tri Axle Low Loaders
Our quad axle low loaders put a fourth axle in the rear group, which lowers the load carried by each axle and settles the trailer under heavy plant. The deck widens from 2490mm to 4000mm.
Quad Axle Low Loaders
Transport heavy machinery, large or oversized loads with our Low Loader Trailers. These trailers are robust and adaptable and, like all of Midland’s trailers, are made from Australian steel. Low Loader trailers are perfect for industries that require a trailer that can accommodate heavy loads, such as mining, manufacturing, plant and machinery.
Depending on the build, our Low Loader Trailers are designed to carry up to a 36-tonne payload and have an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) of up to 55 tonnes. With a low deck height, these trailers offer exceptional stability and ease in loading and unloading heavy equipment.

Choosing between tri axle and quad axle
A tri axle low loader covers most civil and agricultural plant. The step up to a quad axle low loader is worth it when the machine you move regularly sits above what a tri axle can carry on your routes, or when you would rather have mass headroom than arrange a permit for every trip.
Under NHVR General Mass Limits, a tri axle group and a quad axle group are both rated at 21.0 tonnes for dual tyres, or single tyres 375mm and wider. The fourth axle does not raise your General Mass Limit on its own. What it does is spread the same load over more tyres, which lowers the load per axle. That matters on weight restricted routes and bridges, and it gives you room to run above GML under PBS or a permit.
If only one machine in your fleet pushes past a tri axle, a tri axle with a dolly is sometimes the cheaper answer. Worth a conversation before you commit either way.
